“Energizing Communities” is the theme of the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences (CFHSS) 2016 Congress within which the Canadian Communication Association (CCA) will hold its Annual Conference, May 28-31 at the University of Calgary, Alberta ( We are calling for proposals that explore, critique and extend this theme as well as for proposals on any other themes relevant to Communication Studies.

Final program

The final program for the 2016 annual conference of the Canadian Communication Association at the University of Calgary is now available at:
The OpenConf system we have used to build the program allows you to access the full conference program (through which you can build a personal program), an “at-a-glance” program, as well as a very versatile mobile program application that also includes links to paper abstracts. To access links to these program options, scroll down to the bottom left hand side of the OpenConf CCA site. We will not be printing as many programs this year, so please do make use of digital programs if you are able.
Please note that we have had to make changes to the preliminary program in order to address conflicts, errors, and withdrawals from the conference. You must check the full conference program to see what changes have been made, including changes in scheduling and panel placement. Also note that you may have been assigned chairing duties.
Paper presentations should be around 18 minutes in length in order to ensure time for discussion. Rooms in which panels will take place are furnished with a computer, data projector, projection screen, internet access, and sound system.
